DiBAC4(3) is a slow-responding potential-sensitive type The probe can enter depolarized cells, where it binds to intracellular proteins or membranes, exhibiting enhanced fluorescence and red spectral shift. Enhancing the depolarization effect can increase the flux of anionic dyes and thereby increase the fluorescence intensity. Hyperpolarization manifests itself as a decrease in fluorescence intensity. This bis-oxonal has a maximum excitation wavelength of 490 nm and a maximum emission wavelength of 516 nm. Due to its overall negative charge, DiBAC dyes are excluded from mitochondria and are therefore more suitable than carbonocyanates for measuring cell membrane potential.
